The Lady Squires hit the road to take on perennial powerhouse Grand Haven Buccaneers and battled from start to finish in a hard-fought 34–24 contest. Although the final score didn’t fall in our favor, the game told a powerful story of grit, growth, and determination.
It was truly a tale of two halves. The Lady Squires faced early adversity in the first half but refused to back down. After halftime, they came out with renewed energy and purpose—winning both the third and fourth quarters and mounting a furious comeback that had momentum fully on their side. Their defensive intensity picked up, their confidence grew, and their fight was undeniable. They simply ran out of time.
Leading the way offensively was Gabriella Hain with 6 points, followed by Ava Bylsma and Anika Mulder with 4 points each. Claire Francisco and Kayleigh Caterino added 3 points apiece, while Chloe Berg and Joellah Bouwman chipped in 2 points each. Every player contributed, and the effort across the board showed tremendous heart.
While this one goes down as a loss, the way the Lady Squires finished speaks volumes. The resilience, second-half adjustments, and competitive fire displayed on the road against a strong program are signs of a team that continues to grow and believe. The future is bright, and if this performance showed anything, it’s that this group will keep fighting until the final buzzer.
